As Gems of Bollywood has pointed out several times, Bollywood has a disturbing obsession with female nudity. The coterie would prop up any reason to strip a woman off her clothes, including the sickening rape-as-therapy ploy ‘Jism Ki Garmi‘.
Watch this scene from Jai Hind (1999), for example. Shilpa Shirodkar’s character ensures illumination for surgery (to save her beloved hero) by removing all her clothes and burning them in the operating theatre.
This act was absurd, considering the nurse had a battery-operated torch with her all this while.
